LINCOLN CITY, Ind. (WEHT) – High school basketball sectionals continue in the Hoosier state. There’s a huge 3A clash at Boonville, as Heritage Hills takes on Bosse in the semifinals.
Michael Gilbert spent the afternoon at Heritage Hills’ practice has more.
“We are in full swing for Indiana’s boy’s postseason basketball. Two top 3A teams, Bosse and Heritage Hills will meet in the semifinals. It’s a rematch from just a season ago, where the Patriots lost to the Bulldogs in the opening round. Heritage Hills feels ready to go to this time around.”
“This is a very confident group and they have been playing a lot of basketball for a lot of years together. Every time they get out there, they expect to win. That mentality is something you just can’t teach. But this is a very heavy weight battle, we are excited about being apart of it.”
“Both teams are very athletic, can shoot the ball and rebound. Both teams have a big man inside, so I think it’s a big rivalry game. The last two or three years we have lost in the opening round of sectionals. I think this year we can finally do something different.”
“It’s just southern Indiana and Southern Indiana basketball. We know it’s one of the best things here. I think we are going to have a good crowd. We have been looking forward to this since last year and I think we are ready.”
“The Patriots understand the Bulldogs are in the way of a possible sectional title. This game should be good, both teams have some seniority and experience to their rosters.”
Heritage Hills and Bosse tip at six tomorrow night in Boonville.
