HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Our Home Team Friday Countdown crew, Randall Parmley, Michael Gilbert & Zane Clodfelter, break down three of the biggest Tri-State games ahead of week #11.

“Evening everybody, and welcome to week #11 of Home Team Friday’s countdown. It’s the sectional semifinals in Indiana and it’s Kentucky’s regular season finales. Mike and Zane are standing bye, ready to breakdown 3 of the biggest games on the schedule Friday night.”

“Tonight’s games are Heritage Hills at Gibson Southern, Central at Jasper and Henderson County at Owensboro.”

“Let’s start in the 3A, a rematch, part 3. The Titans ruined the Patriots perfect season last year in the semifinals. The Patriots waxed the Titans earlier this season in the Jungle, Zane, what can we expect time this time around.”

(Zane Clodfelter)
“Heritage Hills enters this game following an easy 49-point win over Corydon in the sectional opener. The Patriots should have some confidence with their running game against Gibson Southern after beating the Titans by 35 in the regular season. In that win, Heritage Hills had 476 total yards of offense, all of which came on the ground. The Patriots’ defense also limited Brady Allen’s completions to 48 percent and they also intercepted him three times in that victory.”

(Michael Gilbert)
“Gibson Southern is hoping they can recreate some of last year’s postseason magic as the Titans take on the Patriots in the sectional semifinal. Brady Allen and company will need to do better this time out, too many turnovers downed Nick Hart’s team when they faced Heritage Hills earlier in the regular season. I believe Gibson Southern cleans up their mistakes from their last loss, and keeps this game closer in this playoff atmosphere.”

(Randall Parmley)
” Let’s jump to Class 4A now, Central is at Jasper. The Bears shared the SIAC championship this year. The Cats won the Big 8 and they are red hot. Mike, you have Central.”

(Michael Gilbert)
“We know the kettle is hot with a team like Central, but Reitz show some weaknesses in their sectional opener. Despite the Bears close sectional opener against Reitz, expect Central to turn it up a notch in the sectional semifinal against Jasper. Quarterback Collins Turner has been on a tear lately and with so many explosive skilled players like Brennan Schutte, Tre’Jon Evans and more. I think Central hits another gear and keeps up with their great offense which is averaging 45 points in the last two games.”

(Zane Clodfelter)
“Jasper has been a tough place for opponents to come out with a win and that includes sectional play. The Wildcats are 6-2 in sectional home games this decade and on top of that, they enter this week’s showdown with Central on a five-game winning streak. Against Northview last week, quarterback Blake Mann shined with his legs, leading everyone with 208 yards rushing and finishing with four total touchdowns. That versatility could help Jasper pull of the upset at home.”

(Randall Parmley)
“Our final game takes us to the Bluegrass State for one of Kentucky’s oldest rivalry games. Henderson County is at Owensboro. The Rivalry dates all the way back to 1895, it was first played to a scoreless tie. I don’t think we will see that tomorrow night. Zane, tell us about the Colonels, they are playing well.”

(Zane Clodfelter)
“It’s been a nice year for Josh Boston’s Henderson County Colonels. They enter tomorrow’s clash with Owensboro 6-2 fresh off a 33-28 win against McCracken County. Logan Green was the star in last week’s victory with 149 yards on 24 rushing attempts to go with a touchdown. The Colonels as a team had over 500 yards of offense too, so it might take Owensboro a lot to slow this team down heading into the homestretch of the season.”

(Michael Gilbert)
“Let’s talk about the red hot Red Devils. No pun intended. Owensboro has won 7 straight and showcased both their offense and defense during the stretch. In this winning streak, Jay Fallin’s team is averaging 44 points a contest and the defense is holding opponents under 5 points in their past 4 games. Plus quarterback Gavin Wimsatt is fresh off 200 plus and 3 touchdown game. I like Owensboro here.”

(Randall Parmley)
“Thank you guys so much, tune into Home Team Friday tomorrow night at 10:35 pm.”
