EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) Our visits to SIAC boys basketball practices continue today with a trip to Reitz.
The Panthers are expected to be a conference and sectional championship contender this year, mainly because they have one of the best players in the nation in Khristian Lander.
Reitz went 12 and 12 last season and got knocked out of sectionals by Jasper.
Head coach Michael Adams says this years team has a chance at making a run at a state championship. “I think with the tradition of our program and where we have been, we dream about winning state championships, obviously that is very difficult. Hopefully by sectional time we will have everyone (healthy) and if we do what I think we can do I think we can make a state run.”
Lander adds, “Me personally, me and the team think we shouldn’t have got out that quick in the tournament. We got to get payback on them (Jasper) on Saturday so that was a good start. We want to prove to everybody what we didn’t do last year, we can do this year.”
