PRINCETON, Ind. (WEHT) – Princeton may be a dark horse favorite this year to win sectional 30.
The Tigers have the potential to put more points on the scoreboard as Jared Maner’s team looks to avoid finishing the season with just three wins for the third consecutive year.
Maner’s explains he likes this group, and feels he is helping build a better foundation for the future.
“You got to build individual relationships with kids and I try to do that with every single one. I believe in the long run they will play harder. I have unbelievable kids and praise them everyday because those are the only type of kids I’ll coach anyway.”
One senior, Jarrett Market, say he likes all the steps that Princeton’s program has been making since he joined the football team.
“I think we are all very confident we are moving in the right direction. Maners has done (alot) and what he does for the team and all the trips we have taken, I think we are moving very well in the right direction for this season and seasons to come.”
The right steps must have this core senior group feeling good. Senior, Nathan Craven, believes that Princeton could be a squad that is better than what others think.
“This year is a really good chance for us to get over the hump. We are ready, we are going to give guys a run for their money. We are going to surprise a lot of people.”
The Tigers are hoping for better results this time around. Princeton is aiming for their first winning season since 2016. Jared Maner’s team kicks off the season again North at home.
