MORGANFIELD, Ky. – (WEHT) Union County has had promising regular seasons the past few years, but have come up short in the postseason. The Braves say this season is the year they hope to rewrite the storybook.
Head Coach Derek Johns says that while his team is young, they have lots of returning varsity experience, something he hopes helps in their quest for success.
“They may be juniors on the field, but they’ve got senior experience, and that means a lot. I do want them to feel confident, but I don’t want them to be cocky. So there’s a fine line there, but I feel like they’re confident that we can have a good season, ” said Johns.
The Braves kick off the season at home against Madisonville North Hopkins on August 23rd.
