EAST LANSING, Mi. (WEHT) – Indiana falls to Michigan 40-31 at Spartan Stadium on Saturday despite Hoosier starting quarterback, Michael Penix Jr. returning for IU.

Penix Jr had a nice game on the road, he completed 33 of 42 passes for 286 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Indiana was close to upsetting the No. 25 Spartans on the road. IU tied it up late in the 4th quarter, but MSU was able to respond with a field goal and a forced fumble to secure a victory.

Indiana enters a bye week before playing hosting Rutgers on October 12.
