Welcome back, here he is, our 2019 Home Team Friday MVP of the Year winner. Madisonville North Hopkin’s running back, Jeriah Hightower. Jeriah, a lot of good company, has taken home this award, like Jay Cutler, what does it feel like to be a winner and follow in some of those footsteps?
To be considered as one of those guys, it’s a great honor,to be one named as one of those MVP’s.
What does it feel like to represent your school, community and and winning against some of the guys that you had to line up against on Friday nights, you got a chance to hang out with those guys at the banquet.
It’s an amazing feeling to be able to grow with my guys, and get to know them each week. and it’s special feeling to know you are considered one of the top talents in the area.
We got some of your highlights running, when you get to look at that, and get to think about your accomplishments and what your team did, the type of season Madisonville North Hopkins was able to have, what did it feel like to help to lead the way?
To be able to lead my team so far, we haven’t been that far since 1971,it’s a surreal feeling, each week we played week by week and you take it one game at a time and now you get to see you really had a special season, and it’s something people will to get to remember for a very long time.
Again, you had a special year, you have over 3,000 rushing yards, first in the state of Kentucky, 33 rushing touchdowns, 3rd in the entire state of Kentucky, I know you and Madionsville North Hopkins had a special season, I know you must be impressed, how it all sunk in it?
I don’t think it really sunk in yet, after the last game, you don’t really feel it till it’s all over. You go to the state games, and then you go woah, high school football is really over but it’s really great to have that experience.
