NEWBURGH, Ind. (WEHT) Hello I’m Tom Rose, Director of Golf at Victoria National Golf Club and today we’re featuring Hole number 3 at Victoria National which is this wonderful par 5 and early in the round, most of the players are hoping to get off to a good start, this is the first hole that they get to where this is the first par 5. 580 yards from all the way back. It’s typically a 3 shot par 5 but every year a few of the guys prove me wrong as these guys really hit the ball a long way.
Alright so we’ve hit a pretty good tee ball here on hole number 3. Like I said it is a little wet out here today so I don’t really have a chance to go for the green in 2, so I have a 5 Iron out to hopefully lay up and put it in there about 100, 120 yards away from the green, for our third shot.
Alright, so we’ve hit 3 good shots and have ourselves about a 15 foot birdie put here on hole number 3. Once again, a real challenging green out here at Victoria National. Slopes hard from front to back. We’ve putting a little uphill here. A lot of people’s success will depend on where that pin is and if they’re going for it in two or laying it up there in 3. So let’s see how we do on our Birdie Putt.
Thank you for watching these segments and we hope you can join us out at Victoria National this Friday through Monday for the Korn Ferry Tour Championship.
