NEWBURGH, Ind. (WEHT) Hi good afternoon! MY name is Tom Rose and I’m the director of golf here at Victoria National Golf Club and we’re hosting the Korn Ferry tour championship this week and really excited to be the host club. It’s going to be and important event for the community and hopefully the whole community will come out and support the event. Today we’re on hole number one at Victoria National. Obviously hole number one is a tough one for the guys. It’s their opening tee shot of the day and we have a wonderful par 4 to start the round out. I believe it’s 448 yards from the back tee and putting that first tee shot in play is always imperative to a good start to the round. (hits ball) We’ve hit a pretty good tee shot here on hole number one and we are fighting a little moisture today. We’re hoping by the time the tournament starts on Friday, that the course will dry out a little bit. We’re right in the middle here of the number one fairway and we have about 165 to the pin. What’s great about number one is that its got a great opening second shot. A lot of great pin choices here. Pin back right can be real difficult and the back left. We’re right in the middle there so anything on giving us a good birdie putt is gold here with shot number two. (hits ball) We’ve hit a pretty good second hot into hole number one and have about 15 to 18 feet left for birdie to the pin. There’s a lot to be aware of this year. A new rule with the USGA that you can leave the flag stick in while you’re putting, which I’ll elect to do on our birdie putt. Let’s see if we can open up with a three. Thank you for watching these segments and we hope you can join us at Victoria National this Friday through Monday for the Korn Ferry Tour Championship. You’re going to see some of the greatest golfers in the world competing for 50 spots on the PGA tour. Thank you.
