OWENSBORO, Ky. – (WEHT) Kentucky Wesleyan held it’s media day for men and women’s basketball on Tuesday afternoon, featuring lots of excitement around both teams for the new season.
On the men’s side, Drew Cooper enters his second season as head coach of the Panthers and hoping for more success. With 94% of the scoring returning from last year’s squad, Cooper says the Panthers are optimistic about this season.
“We’re extremely optimistic in comparison to this time last year,” said Cooper. “We have a team that has been through some battles, and we’ve learned some lessons. The sky is the limit for us. “
For the women, the Panthers enter the new year after one of the most successful seasons in program history. This year, the Panthers are hoping for more of the same success.
“We’re always just looking to be the best teammates that we can be, and work our tails off. When you do that you have a lot of fun, and then the opportunities are endless when that happens so that’s always the mindset,” said co-head coach Caleb Nieman.
