Local Athlete Lifts 100 Tons for a Good Cause

The 100 Ton Challenge, where a participant attempts to lift 100 tons in just two hours, seems like an impossible feat. On Monday, local athlete Brandon Hayes completed the daunting task, lifting 202,590 pounds in just one hour and 46 minutes.

All of the proceeds from the lifting challenge will go directly towards benefiting the local Southwest Indiana Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) ministry. Additionally, Brandon and his family agreed to match all the proceeds dollar for dollar.

Brandon has been training for three months at the Pit Barbell Club under the direction of Pat Tyring, completing the challenge by following a method of mixing various exercises, reps, and weights on nine different machines.

Brandon is the first person at the Pit Barbell Club to complete the challenge.
