Local golfers compete in Evansville’s Muni Cup

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The 12th annual Muni Cup golf tournament wrapped up on Sunday. Despite the rain sprinkling on the Helfrich Golf Course, golfers battled the weather.

Teams from each of the city’s public golf courses competed in a Ryder Cup format to determine a winner.

Those participating say the competition of match play makes it a fun event to compete in.

“It’s just a terrific competition in between the three city golf courses and the men’s clubs. Great partnership between the three clubs, also a very serious competition, our guys look forward to every year. Hope everybody when everyone gets here in October for the Muni Cup and competition.

Helfrich golf course’s team won the event with 18 points. It’s their third straight Muni Cup victory and 7th overall win.
