Local high school coaches weigh in on Big Game

Local Sports

(WEHT)- Ahead of Sunday’s Big Game, Eyewitness News spoke with two local football coaches to get their analysis and predictions.

Both Memorial Head Coach, John Hurley and Castle Head Coach, Doug Hurt agree the running game will be crucial for both teams. Hurley admits that while Kansas City’s offense is predicated on the passing game led by quarterback Pat Mahomes, their ability to run the ball could help them mix in other concepts, including play-action passes.

For San Francisco, Hurley says running and protecting the ball well could help them keep Mahomes and the Chiefs offense off the field. Hurt agrees, saying Kansas City’s ability to stop the run could be a deciding factor in Sunday’s game.

While Hurley says he wants Andy Reid to bring a title to Kansas City, Hurt thinks the 49ers will bring another championship to the Bay Area.
