EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The University of Evansville has placed men’s basketball head coach Walter McCarty on administrative leave.
McCarty was placed on leave, pending the investigation of alleged Title IX violations.
McCarty is a Harrison High School graduate. He was part of the 1996 national championship team at Kentucky and played ten years in the NBA.
He was hired to take over the UE men’s basketball program in March 2018.
In his first season, the Aces finished 11 and 21 but had the highest attendance in the Missouri Valley Conference.
McCarty and the Aves then garnered national attention when they knocked off then number one ranked Kentucky at Rupp Arena on November 12th.
