Mater Dei wins 10th straight SIAC tournament title


PARADISE, Ind. (WEHT) – Mater Dei wildcats claimed their 10th straight SIAC tournament title on Saturday afternoon at Castle High School.

The Wildcats posted a team score of 265.5 and will look to continue their momentum as they head into the postseason.


“It’s a good day of wrestling, it’s like pre-postseason, you are kind of getting into that postseason feel, and it’s a little bit of a test run. it’s one more chance to make improvements, and build on things you have been working on and figuring out how bad you want it.”

“I think we are prepared for the postseason, we are prepared mentally, I know coach always says this is a good tune up to get ready for sectionals, and I think we are using it really well. and I think we will be ready for next week.”

  3. Reitz – 147.5
  4. Memorial – 118.0
  5. North – 117.5

Sectional wrestling begins next weekend. Two local sectionals will take place at Central, the other at Castle.
