EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Mount Vernon is eyeing history this week after one of the best season’s in school history.
The Wildcats will face Jasper on Friday in a winner-take-all showdown for the Big 8 Championship. Mount Vernon has never won a Big 8 title, and Cory Brunson’s bunch says it would be a monumental moment for the program.
“It would be a huge win, we’ve never ever won conference, it would be a nice way to end the Big 8, last time to be a part of it, it would be huge for the team and the community. I think they have a lot to prove, and it is rewarding to see all the hard work they’ve put in and to see the benefits from it,” said Brunson.
Mount Vernon and Jasper will kick off at 7 Friday night.
