Owensboro finding mid-season groove

OWENSBORO, Ky. – (WEHT) Owensboro has found their groove lately, winning three straight games since their 2-point loss to Central.

“Confident but also understanding that we’ve got a lot to work on. They understand that the teams that are successful in the playoffs are those that have practiced well throughout the season. We have a talented team, we have a hard working team, now we just have to decide through the back half of the season if we’re going to be the kind of team that really focuses on the details and becomes a really disciplined team,” said head coach Jay Fallin.

The Red Devils are led by sophomore quarterback Gavin Wimsatt and seem to be putting together all the right pieces on both sides of the ball.

“We are very confident, but the mindset is to win state, we want a ring. So to get there we know we gotta perform our best and work every day in practice and keep working,” said Wimsatt.

Owensboro will face Ohio County on Friday.
