(WEHT)- Due to the Coronavirus, many NCAA student-athletes have been stripped of a year of eligibility before they were even able to compete.

There’s now a push to allow college student-athletes whose sports are impacted by this virus — an extra year of eligibility to continue competing.

It has more than 170-thousand signatures so far.

Friday afternoon the NCAA announced it will grant spring student-athletes relief for a season of eligibility.

Details of that relief will be finalized at a later time.
