Reitz Junior U-18 National Swimming Champ

Sports

Reitz High School Junior Lilly King placed 10th at the U.S. Swimming National Championships in Indianapolis in the 50m breast stroke and 20th in the 100m.  The top ten ranking sounds impressive, what’s even more impressive, though, she was competing against the current world record holder and the NCAA national champion, and she’s only 16 years old.
King’s time of 31.76sec made her the 18 and Under U.S. National Champion.  King swims for the Reitz Panthers during the school year, but her summer months in the pool are spent with the Newburgh Sea Creatures.
She’s set to compete next in the Junior National Championships in Irvine, CA in August.  Her coach, Mike Chapman, says her goal is to win the 100m breast stroke.
