Reitz tennis ready for sectionals after undefeated regular season

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – (WEHT) It has been an unprecedented season for Reitz tennis. The Panthers made history this year with a perfect 17-0 undefeated regular season.

“Our momentum and our motivation is that we know what this team is capable of doing, and that has motivated us all year despite what our record is,” said Reitz Head Coach Cole Claybourn. “Reitz has never had this kind of success, and I think we still feel like we have a lot to prove.”

Now the Panthers are eyeing a long run in the postseason. Last season Reitz won their first ever sectional, but the Panthers are hoping to go even further this year.

“It’s definitely awesome to know that we are out here two and a half hours a day every day of the week, so it’s nice to know it’s all paying off,” said junior Jordan Wilson. “We’re definitely locked in, we want to get to State.”

Reitz will play Central in the Sectional Semi-finals on Thursday.
