Stephen Jones Raves About Sean Lee

Silver Star Nation’s Mickey Spagnola talks to Stephen Jones about Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee.

Lost in the Cowboys 27-7 loss to the Seattle Seahawks is just how well Cowboys inside linebacker Sean Lee played. Chief Operating Officer Stephen Jones tells the Silver Star Nation just how good he is.

Jones said, “Sean’s not only a great player on the field, he’s a great person off the field, but more than that is his leadership. He’s become THE leader of that defense now. He obviously has great skill. He was taken in the 2nd round. We had him in the 1st round on the draft board. His intangibles, his tenacity, his character are 2nd to none. I was visiting with Tom Seskowski, who’s been here pretty much our whole tenure, since we’ve owned the team. He said, he(Lee) may be, and I think I agree with him, the best inside linebacker we’ve had since we’ve been involved with the Dallas Cowboys.”

That certainly is not hyperpole from Stephen Jones if you consider that when the coaches got through grading the tape Sean Lee finished the game with 21 tackles. That tied a single game record for the Cowboys that was set by some guy named Lee Roy Jordan back in 1971. It was 2 more tackles than his personal high. That’s pretty good stuff.
