Haubstadt, IND. (WEHT) – Racing looks to return at Tri-State Speedway, the track plans on opening their doors to 50% of spectators On Sunday, June 14th.
“It’s probably going to mean more to the fans. This has been a labor of love with my son Blake, and my daughter Melanie.” said track operator Tom Helfrich.
The family owned facility has hosted races for over 60 years. Now, track operator Tom Helfrich says they are making changes to implement social distancing guidelines so race fans Can return to their seats
“We will do whatever we need to do as more rules and regulations come in. We will put marks in our refreshment line. We will have officials watching. But people at this stage of the game, know what they need to do.”
The season has been cut down usually hosting at-least 12 races in a year…Helfrich explains re-opening is good for the local community.
“People want to get back, we want to do a safe thing to get them back and hopefully we can be apart of the start. It’s made all of us appreciate a little bit more is our lives.”
