UE prepares for conference play, without Walter McCarty

Sports

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT)- When the University of Evansville Purple Aces tip off Missouri Valley conference play Tuesday against Missouri State, they’ll do so without second year head coach, Walter McCarty. McCarty was placed on administrative leave last Friday for an investigation into alleged Title IX violations.

University officials say they received a “troubling report” about McCarty’s conduct with a member of the campus community. Bennie Seltzer was named interim head coach and says he’s been trying to regain a sense of normalcy around the program, “We are trying to make it as normal as possible around here to get ready for Missouri State.”

On the season, the Purple Aces are 9-4, with a famous win over the University of Kentucky in Lexington in November.
