Face coverings mandate
The face mask mandate initially went into effect on July 10. It requires everyone over the age of five years old is required to wear a face mask or face covering in public places. The current mandate is set to expire on January 2, 2020.
This executive order, which initially went into effect in March 2020, waives co-pays, deductibles, cost-sharing and diagnostic testing fees for private insurance and state employees. It also removes any impediments blocking someone from getting tested or treated under Medicaid. This order is currently set to expire on January 4, 2020.
Moratorium on utility shutoffs
The moratorium was initially signed by Governor Beshear on May 8, 2020. It suspends utility disconnections due to non-payment by by all entities that provide natural gas, water or electricity. As of November 6, 2020, utilities are allowed to resume cutoffs due to non-payment.
An executive order on mass gatherings was initially signed on March 19, 2020. It has since been modified multiple times. The executive order limiting social gatherings to a maximum of two households and a maximum of eight people went into effect on December 13, 2020.
