OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) – Two people have been displaced following a house fire in Owensboro.

The fire happened at a home in the 300 block of Plum Street.

According to fire officials, the fire started inside the home and they’ve been on scene since 4:30 p.m.

Initially, there were reports that people were still inside the home, but no one was injured.

Firefighters remained on scene after the fire was under control, fighting hot spots.

There’s extensive damage to the home. Much of it is in the back porch area.

We will continue to update information once it becomes available.

OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) – Firefighters respond to a house fire in Owensboro.

It happened at a home in the 300 block of Plum Street.

According to the Owensboro Battalion Chief James Howard, there were no reported injuries, but there is signifcant damage to the home.

Firefighters are fighting hot spots and have been at the scene since around 4:30 p.m.

It’s unclear how the fire started, but officials say it started inside the home.

The fire is under investigation.
