Sen. Sanders hospitalized with blocked artery


LAS VEGAS (WEHT) – Senator Bernie Sanders – a leading Democratic candidate for president – was hospitalized with a blocked artery and his campaign has now been placed on hold.

The Sanders campaign says the Senator experienced some chest discomfort during a campaign event in Las Vegas Tuesday night.

Following medical tests, he was found to have a blocked artery and two stents were successfully inserted.

The campaign saying he’s in good spirits and talking, but they’re cancelling all of his events and appearances until further notice.

The 78-year-old is the oldest of the democratic candidates in the field but known for his firebrand of progressive politics and his energetic defense of his democratic socialist beliefs and policies.
