Spencer County animal rescue to have grand opening

Uncategorized

SPENCER COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) – Over a year after the Spencer County Animal Shelter closed down, a new shelter will now open in its place.

The Spencer County Animal Shelter closed in October of 2018 after allegations of employees freezing cats alive. No criminal charges were filed.

It Takes A Village No-Kill Rescue, Inc. is moving in to fill the gap and will have its grand opening on October 20, 2019 from 12 p.m to 4 p.m.

It’s one of the largest animal rescues in the region, with a location already in Evansville.

The shelter in Spencer County is located at 824 E. CR 800 North, Chrisney, Indiana.

We’re told there will be food for purchase at the grand opening event, adoptable animals and tours of the facility.

ITV tells us anyone who attends the Grand Opening event can enter to win a pair of Miranda Lambert concert tickets.
