Milling and repaving Franklin Street in Evansville's westside continued into Friday. The city in 2023 is performing maintenance on some roads parallel to the Lloyd Expressway. It's part of a plan extending from 9th Street to St. Joseph's Avenue. "It'll make it look nicer, but -- you know -- again, we're prepping for the bigger picture stuff and just the extra traffic that we expect on West Franklin starting next year," Evansville city engineer Michael Labitzke said.

Zombie Farm opens for 50th season on Friday, September …

NEWBURGH, Ind. (WEHT) -- Zombie Farm at the Newburgh Civitan building opens for its 50th season this Friday, September 29.

Over the last 50 years, the farm has grown from a four-room haunted house to a 25-scene attraction stretching indoors and outdoors over two acres.

It is an event benefitting area charities, like the Special Olympics.

Young racing team prepares to make ‘Baja 1,000’ trip …

OAKLAND CITY, Ind. (WEHT) -- A group of young adults in the Off-Road Motorsports Youth Foundation continues to prepare for a world competition known as Baja 1,000 in Baja California, Mexico in November.

The group of 12 of the team -- ranging from ages 17 to 23 -- are among the youngest ever in the decades-long racing tradition to compete.

The race takes drivers about 40 hours to complete in the Mexican desert.
